The college has a modern central library with 45826 volumes of books. The library subscribes to 71 technical periodicals, plus 12 General Magazines. The open access system is observed in the library.

Library Automation
The Library is automated using an integrated software called “MODERN LIB” with the Bar code Technology,and the following main modules for the Library in-house operations:

RULES & REGULATION OF THE LIBRARY

Students and staff members of UIT are only allowed to use the library resources outsiders are not allowed without permission from principal

Silence is to be strictly observed in the library.

Students can be borrowing two books at a time for a period of 14 days.

Staff members can be borrow four books at a time for a period of one month
-
All books must be returned on before the due date.

Books returned after the due date will be charged Rs.1/- per day.

Books are required to be presented physically at the Counter for return.

Members must replace the lost book with latest edition along with overdue charges, unless to pay the cost of the book in double
-
Members are required to keep their belongings at the property counter in library entrance.

Members are required to produce their Bar-Coded Membership Cards to the Staff as and when asked for.

Personal books and belongings except for return are not permitted to be brought inside the Library.

Bar code system has been implemented. Students can borrow books by producing ID cards.

The final year students should return the books to the library before University Exams will commencing

Borrowing journals / reference books / projects reports from the library will not permitted.

Borrowers are expected to return the books on or before the due date stamped on the Due Date slip.

Writing or underlining in a book or tampering with a book in any manner is strictly prohibited

Books may be returned on all working days. Absence from the institution shall not be an excuse for any delay in returning the books.

Books due on a holiday should be returned the next morning and no fine will be collected.

The returned books shall not be reissued to the same person on the same day of return.

Library books are to be used with utmost care and to be returned without any damage.

Damaged books shall not be accepted and it has to be replaced.

Usage of mobile phones is not permitted inside the library.

Students/Staffs who leave the college for any reason in the middle of the term should return the book and get No Due Certificate before leaving the college
